Issues of Importance for the League of Women Voters of Fremont County

  • Missing and Murdered Indigenous People

LWVFC recognizes that MMIP is an issue of utmost importance to the Wind River Indian Reservation communities. We understand that history has proven that Indigenous people have been disproportionately impacted by violence in the United States. For our democracy to provide liberty and justice for all, this violence and injustice must stop.

  • Marching for Reproductive Freedom

    Reproductive Freedom

“When women and those who can become pregnant can no longer make reproductive decisions for their own bodies, they are no longer equal individuals in our democracy. This harm will exacerbate societal inequalities and fall disproportionately on people of color and low-income communities already facing egregious obstacles to health care. “

-League of Women Voters of the United States President Dr. Deborah Turner and CEO Virginia Kase Solomón

  • Redistricting Map

    Redistricting

We promote transparent and accountable redistricting processes and end hyper-partisan practices that don't benefit constituents. We believe responsibility for fair redistricting should be vested in an independent special commission, with a membership that reflects the diversity of the unit of government. The League works in states across the country to pass ballot initiatives to institute independent redistricting commissions.
