2024 Key Election Dates

Primary Election - August 20, 2024
General Election - November 5, 2024
 

Voting Hours on Election Days: 7 AM- 7 PM

May 15 - Registered Voter Party Affiliation Declaration and Change of Party Deadline 
New voter registrations may still declare a party affiliation when registering after this deadline.  

July 23 – August 19 - Early Voting for State Primary Election with Your Absentee Ballot. Only 1 location: Fremont County Courthouse, 450 N 2nd Street, Lander, Room 120, M - F, 8a-5p. Voters may still register in person and cast an absentee ballot July 23 – August 19, 2024 
Absentee ballots may be requested at any time in 2024 prior to the day of an election.

August 7—Recommended Deadline to Mail Your Absentee Ballot Back: The Earlier, the Better** **Ballots can be dropped off at your voter registration locations, dropped into the only secure ballot dropbox located behind the Lander Courthouse, or mailed. The U.S. Postal Service recommends voters mail their ballots by August 7

August 19 - Last Day to Request an Absentee Ballot Form
Voters may still register in person and cast an absentee ballot August 6 – August 19, 2024 

August 20 - Primary Election Day & Absentee Ballot Return Deadline 
*Your completed absentee ballot must be turned in to the County Clerk's office or Voting Center no later than 7 pm on Primary Election Day, August 20 
*All Voters May Register and Vote at ANY of 8 Voting Centers or Polling Places on Primary Election Day, Tuesday, August 20, 2024
 

October 22 – November 4 - Early Voting with Your Absentee Ballot for the General Election
Only 1 location: Fremont County Courthouse 450 N 2nd Street Room 120, M - F, 8a-5p.
*Your completed absentee ballot must be turned in to the County Clerk's office or Voting Center by 7 p.m. on Election Day. 

November 3 - General Election Absentee Ballot Vote By Mail Request Deadline

November 5 - General Election Day - All Voters may register and vote at ANY of 8 polling places. 
*Voters may still register in person and cast an absentee ballot October 22 – November 4, 2024

IDs are Required When Voting in Wyoming

Acceptable IDs

  • Wyoming Driver’s License or ID Card

  • Tribal ID Card

  • Valid United States Passport

  • United States Military Card

  • Driver’s License or ID Card from Another State

  • University of Wyoming Student ID

  • Wyoming Community College Student ID

  • Wyoming Public School Student ID

  • Valid Wyoming Concealed Firearm Permit

  • Valid Medicare Insurance Card (no longer acceptable after 2029)

  • Valid Medicaid Insurance Card (no longer acceptable after 2029)

Where do I vote?

You may vote early at the Fremont County Elections Office, Fremont County Courthouse, 450 N. 2nd Street, Lander, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (See early/absentee voting information above for dates.)

On Election Day, you can vote at any of the Fremont County Vote Centers:

  • Arapahoe Charter School Building, 445 Little Wind River Bottom Rd., Arapahoe

  • Wyoming Indian High School Gym, 638 Blue Sky Highway, Ethete

  • Ft. Washakie School Gym, 90 Ft. Washakie School Rd., Ft. Washakie

  • Kinnear Fire Hall, 11521 Highway 26, Kinnear

  • Bob Carey Memorial Field House, Lander Valley High School, 350 Baldwin Creek Rd., Lander

  • Fremont Center, Fremont County Fairgrounds, 1010 Fairgrounds Dr., Riverton

  • Shoshoni Senior Citizens Center, 214 E. 2nd St, Shoshoni

  • Dubois Headwaters Community Arts Center, Stalnaker St., Dubois

Election Day Voting Hours: 7 AM to 7 PM

You can Register and Vote on Election Day in Wyoming!

There is no need to disappoint your mother because you forgot to register. Just show up at any of the Fremont County Vote Centers with your ID, and you can register and vote!
